The Origin Story

Sanaye (pronounced Sah-Nah-Yeh) is the name of Taryn’s grandma who inspires her day in and day out to emulate the love and care she provided to her. She left a legacy of authentic love, welcomed people with open arms, gifted people with a smile, and made others feel cared for with her laugh and banter.

She had an innate ability to connect with others, to meet people where they were at, making them feel seen and understood. From ancestry of deep empathy and compassion, Sanaye Wellness was created to embrace the legacy of Taryn’s grandmother: unwavering authenticity and joyfully being who she was.

These characteristics of her background are integrated into Taryn’s work as a therapist. Taryn’s hope for anyone she meets is: to be of support, to help people transform life’s trials into enhanced opportunities. To find sweetness in the bitter moments of life. To be comfortable with who they are, so that others will appreciate it.

All who come to Sanaye Wellness are encouraged to be who they are. You are making the courageous choice to take the first step towards growth. You are no longer alone in your mental health journey.

About Taryn Chin

Taryn has worked in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community mental health, outpatient group practices, and outpatient private practice within in-home, office-based, and telehealth settings with clients of all ages.

She seeks to understand the whole person - mind, body, soul, and spirit - as she believes holistic mental health care consists of the mind and body connection. Taryn approaches all people with trauma informed care with the understanding that we are all coming from different paths. The primary modalities she uses are EMDR, Somatic, Ego State and Parts Work, DBT, and CBT with a collaborative client-centered approach to ensure she meets your goals. No matter the direction of care she might think is best, you are the expert on yourself and have the freedom to forge your own path, go at your own pace, and speak up when things are not working.

Taryn’s overall goal is to make you feel comfortable enough to share the ins and outs of your life. She might ask questions to get clarification and provide a perspective you might have not thought about before to help you understand or make sense of what may need improvement. Taryn is most known to be compassionate, provide empathy, and seek understanding while also be direct to challenge you. She cares to balance the safety of what you feel while pushing you outside of your comfort zone - to trust, gain confidence, and to love the person you once were toward the person you are able to become, in the direction of your goals.

Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change.
